The thing that makes wakeboarding a community is that we all love to wakeboard.When we get together it is great because everyone is supportive and are trying to become better wakeboarders and in the process often make good friends and help them to be better wakeboarders as well.
The wakeboarding community is held together by the love of wakeboarding because without out it there would be no wakeboarding community. Another thing about this community is that when you get together your in a boat that is in the middle of a body of water, so there isn't much else to go until we get back to shore and the time that happens whoever wanted off most likely has gotten over whatever they were mad about in the first place. Wakeboarding is a stress release, it helps you to forget about whatever is troubling you if only for a few hours. This community focuses soley on wakeboarding and tries to be a stress-free happy situation.
As far as tensions go against the community I'm not really sure. There are different skill levels of wakeboarders like in anything else, which can be good or bad depending on the persons attitude.
How anyone fits into the group seems pretty obvious to me, you wakeboard! I've been wakeboarding for three years now and love it. Plus my father owns a ski boat, so most of the time our boat is the meeting place for wakeboarders and the center of that community.
The reason I want to be apart of this community is complicated.This community isn't just a group of people who got together because they wakeboarded, they most likely started off as a friend, family member, co-worker, maybe a friend of a friends. Then through wakeboarding have become close in another way. The wakeboarding community becomes an extended family in a way even if they start out as strangers, if they choose to stay in the community and pursue wakeboarding you don't just gain a community member you gain a friend!

My Purse
What does my purse say about me? I've never really thought about what the things I put in my purse say. I put them in there when I need them.Unless it's money I'll probably leave it in my purse until I find it nesscary to clean it out.Right now it is ready to be cleaned out. Actually I need a bigger purse, right now I just haven't found the right one at the right price.
My purse is packed with all sorts of good stuff. I have pens,I always have my cell phone,my ipod, and the cord for my car which plugs my ipod into my radio in my purse unless I'm using them. All of these are pink, which would probably draw someone to conclude that I'm girly which most of the time I'm not.It would also bring the conclusion that I love pink which is true. There is also lipgloss,mascara, chapstick,and really good smelling hand sanitizer! I'm not really sure what thats says besides the fact that I'm a girl and I wear make-up.
Also in my purse you'll find a good amount of cash, a paycheck almost always I have a paycheck in my purse because by the time I get off work the bank is closed. Since I have a good amount of money and a debit card and a paycheck, people would assume that I was well off which isn't really true. I'm not struggling financially because I live at home and am saving to get my own place. From looking at my paycheck you would see that I work at a daycare and that I like kids, which is true most of the time. There are many different ways people can read the things in my purse, That is just what I get when I look at the things in my purse.
The rest of the stuff in my purse are cards to different places like, subway,my library card, my CPR and AED card, two starbucks cards(which are from christmas) and my drivers license or garbage; an old bus ticket and gum wrappers. All the different cards tell different things about me, if you want them to. My subway card might lead you to believe that I eat healthy, which I do try to most of the time, but hey I'm still a teenager! My library card tells you that I live in Snohomish county and that I like to read and all my drivers license tells you is my basic information expect my picture looks nothing like I do now.
All in all if all you had to go on was my purse to get to know me you would probably be in trouble. Considering that my purse tells little about my personality minus maybe my style. You miss the quirks that make me, me. It'll tell you that I'm not the most organized person in the world and that I know how to save money, but I don't see how you can draw any conclusions about my values from my purse. You might get a outlining of my idenity but it it without the context and colors that make it mine.
